What a short link records
When you open a terramind.link or tmnd.link link, we count the click for the organisation that made the link. We record facts about the click, never a profile of you.
Recorded for each click
- The time, and the hour and weekday where you are.
- Your country, region and city, as Cloudflare places them from the connection.
- Device type, operating system and browser, with the major version only (for example “iOS 18”, “Chrome 131”).
- The app, if the link opened inside one (Instagram, LinkedIn, and so on).
- The referring site. Only its name, except for public sites such as news and forums, where we also keep the page path. Never a query string.
- Your language, from your browser’s settings.
- The company name, only when the click came from a business network. Never a home or mobile provider.
- Whether the request was a bot, a link preview or an email security scanner. For those requests only, we also keep the full user agent and the IP address cut down to its network (/24 or /48), and delete both after 7 days.
- A daily unique-visitor hash, so one person clicking twice counts once. It is made with a salt that we delete at the end of every day, after which nobody, us included, can recreate or link it.
- Whether your browser sent Global Privacy Control. When it does, we do not add a click id to the address you land on.
Never recorded
- Your full IP address.
- Your browser’s full user agent.
- Cookies or anything stored in your browser. These domains set none.
- Fingerprints of any kind.
- Any identifier that lasts longer than a day or follows you from one link to another.
Who is responsible
Short links are made by organisations that use Terramind. The organisation that created a link decides to measure it and is responsible for these records; we process them on its behalf. We are responsible ourselves only for keeping these links safe (blocking harmful links, handling reports, and the bot details above) and for statistics combined across many organisations, which never identify a person or an organisation.
Why
To count how often a link is opened and from where, so the organisation can measure its own posts and campaigns, and to keep these domains free of abuse. We do not use these records for advertising, do not sell them, and do not combine them across organisations to recognise anyone.
How long, and where
Individual click records are deleted after 30 days. Daily totals hold no personal data and are kept indefinitely.
Cloudflare runs the redirect on its network worldwide, and the records are stored with Google Cloud in the United States.
Your rights
We keep nothing that identifies you for longer than a day, so we usually cannot tell which records are yours. If you think we hold data about you, or you want to object to it, email legal@terramind.com with the link you opened. We will tell you which organisation is responsible and help you with your request.
Read the full Terramind privacy policy, or report a link that leads somewhere harmful.
